Why are Duas important?

Dua (Arabic: دعاء) literally means "invocation" and is the personal supplication to Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described Dua as "the essence of worship" (At-Tirmidhi 3371). Unlike the ritual prayer (Salah), Dua is free-form and can be made in any language — however, the transmitted Arabic formulas have special significance as they come directly from the Prophet or from the Quran.

This collection contains the most important Duas for a Muslim's daily life: supplications after the obligatory prayer, for morning and evening, before and after eating, during travel, for protection and for Ramadan. Each Dua is provided with an authentic source reference so you can trace the chain of narration.

NamazWorld presents all Duas with the original Arabic text, phonetic transliteration and English translation. This way you can recite the supplications even if you cannot yet fluently read Arabic — while understanding their meaning at the same time.
